Renowned for her gutsy but tender vocal style (which Jackie has jokingly referred to as ‘Dolly Parton meets Patti Smith’), Jackie has twice been shortlisted for the Australian Music Prize. Jackie performed for iconic QLD concert series Women In Voice at the QLD Performing Arts Centre and featured on SBS Television’s much-loved ‘RocKwiz’ dueting with Australian music legend Colin Hay. And it’s not just Australia that’s fallen in love with her, over the past few years Jackie’s performed extensively throughout Europe, the UK and Japan.
An incorrigible journeywoman, Jackie has scored an army of fans with her inate storytelling and personal delivery.

“I love this album.” Richard Kingsmill, Triple J
“Like stumbling across the musical union of Janis Joplin and Jeff Buckley.” The Canberra Times
“What the Rolling Stones would have sounded like with a female vocalist.” The Australian
“In terms of sonic sparkle, originality and emotional clout Jackie Marshall leaves her competition for dead.” The Courier-Mail
“Marshall is an original, a breath of fresh air, a tonic…The album swaggers like a rolling drunk, it trembles like an autumn leaf, it laughs and it cries…the ragged-edge glory to which rock music can aspire.” The Age
“A mix of confidence and sheer on the money rock that makes you sit up and take notice on just the first listen. On the second listen it gets even better, except you play it louder.” (EG)
“You could almost feel Marshall channelling her heroes with the Janis Joplin howls and Patti Smith poetics that seemed to squeeze their way into the songs… check this soon-to-be national treasure out.” The AU Review.
